I finally make it to a PULAU -!!

Yes, congrats to me!! I make it to a PULAU!!

In case you are wondering what is a 'Pulau', it literally means an 'island'.
okay an island. SO WHAT IS SUCH A BIG DEAL BOUT IT?

It's like erm,

you didn't visit Eiffel Tower when you pay thousands for a ticket to Paris.

you went to China but haven't got the chance to step on The Great Wall.

and then you flew to Egypt, but didn't see the pyramids.

Or it's just as simple as didn't get a fried chicken when you go to KFC.

So I hope you get what I mean after all this unnecessary explanation.

It means that: YOU MUST GO TO THE PULAU WHEN YOU VISIT SABAH (fyi if you are too lazy to Google or wiki wth is 'Sabah', it's a state of malaysia, located at the Island of Borneo. p/s you are hopeless if you don't even know wth is Malaysia. GOOGLE it, thanks.)

sorry I didnt meant to scold any of you, so I guess I should just make it back to the topic of my pulau trip.

It was a very sunny day (<-damn it! I was like a grilled slash roasted human, cannibals!) But I was kinda happy that this means great shots!! Very optimistic wasn't I (?) I guess it's time for shots sneak peak.

There is no need to lie

There is no need to lie. I wouldn't say a thing even if you tell me the truth, as there is nothing to be (and supposed to be) complained. I am just impressed that you feel the need to do so. Since when I am in need to be 'socialised' with.

There is evident. Or may be just my eyes that are too sharp, too observing. They are in dark, they are hidden, they are at where I am not suppose to see (and you don't supposed I will be able to). Well, I just saw them.

I won't say a thing. I understand. You are just trying to be kind.

Ps. This is no big deal. I am just impressed at how unnecessary a lie can be. But I know, it is just a white-lie, no big deal. I am okay.

A movie marathon of mine.

I kinda sorta promised that I am gonna talk bout the movies I've been watching recently.

The most recent one, New Moon.

GUYS, STOP LAUGHING when Edward comes out, K?? I know that wind-blowing-his-hair, and he-looked-so-beautiful thing is kinda over exaggerate but it's no where near funny!! You are just jealous ey? (sorry my guy-reader, no offence. And er, speak-out if you have comment on that, I would love to know what do YOU think.)

Anyway, I figured what is this 'the power of love' is all about. It makes GUYS watches New Moon!!! You know how shocked I was when I found there are GUYS population in the cinema was almost half of the whole?!?! And when I figured most of these guys came in couple, yeah i think that's the power of love.

Okay there is exception. We went in group. These guys came volitionally, no power of love whatsoever.

Oh bout the movie. It sorta dissapoint me. The only pick up point is that Taylor looked hotter than I thought, (MX and jes you guys are right!) although he have unmatching face. To Taylor's fans, I am not disclaiming his hotness, just that he just looked too young-and-innocent to have that body kay? And by the way, I think Edward (Rob Pattinson) has got fake abs in order to compete (??)/ company (<-- that's more like it 'cos the former is never possible) Taylor's. and and and it was funny when him and Bella talked bout leaving each other, they looked like they were on stage or something, 'cos they are so acting please. In conclusion, I love the book way more and I wonder what does Stephenie Meyer thinks.

Moving on to the popular one, 2012.

Great effect and THAT'S IT. The family bonding part weren't so much touching to me, it seems to be a perspective tool for the movie's story telling. I just think by 'zooming into a few families and how they faced the hardship' aren't the way to make a 'super-effect-zero-story' movie anywhere near moving and touching. Or may be that's just me, I cried for 'UP' and it's an animation, merely.

Well, we are waiting for year 2012 aren't we? Oh it hits me when I think I am not gonna be graduated if this whole disaster thing is gonna happen!! (FYI, yours truly will be in the last year of her master program at 2012)

Next next, 'The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus'.

Oh it caught me when I heard that was the last product of the late Heath Ledger. The movie was dark fairy-tale like, melancholy and theatrical, different from most of the commercial movie that we watched (and available) in the cinema, either chick-flick, action or the-disaster-and-end-of-the-world. Aprreciate the existence of Heath Ledger in it, although theatrical he performed great. And it was such a shock when Tony (Ledger's role) died in the end in the imaginarium, that was just SHOCKING, 'cos it feels real. Besides, I am honestly amazed of the production team idea of getting Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Collin Farrell to play 'Tony' in the imaginarium.

By the way, I was totally in love with the setting and colours. The fixed to the horseback vintage theatre, rainy street of London and the white haired old man.... These are all my right kind of 'thing'. I aint saying I would like to have this kind of things round me, design this sort of house (seriously the house would ends up looking like some sort of hauted mansion) whatsoever, this is just kind of my secret-fantasy-world thingy. shhhh.

^ personal favourite poster of the movie (far left), the UK one;s with Lily Cole (French (2nd from left) and Jap (3rd one) are looking good and the aussie one is kinda hideous (far right)) (clicky for larger image)

Honestly, I am getting a bit lazy here ( if you are reading and chewing the every words, I believe you are tooo) but I just gonna mentioned another (and the last ) movie here, 'Julie and Julia', in order to accomplish this 'movie marathon' mission.

'Julie and Julia' was a simple and warm movie, just the kind that give you a smile when you step out of the cinema. Remember I complained about '2012'? yeah that's the heart-warming thing that it lacked at. And for those who watched it, I found the blog, THE REAL BLOG (clicky!), no scam!! But I haven't found the book yet, I went to Borders and have a browse at the 'Bestseller' section, where all those 'movied books' usually located at. Nah, none.

This has been a long entry. Thanks for reading, even if you skipped half of it.

Camera, do you know how much i need you?

For those who watch my blog would have known i m now surviving without camera... This is TORTURING!! and sorry that i can't post more interesting stuff that, i see and i want YOU to see. Such a regret. sigh.

Since my camera is now not working, it ever came across my mind to buy a new one.

Internal debating:
'My cam is NOT WORKING!! I can't survive!! I need a new one...'
'WHAT? but it is just for these 2 months that you have to wait!! Just dash to sony centre immediately after you got off from the plane to Malaysia!!'
'NOOOO... 2 months are wayyyyy tooo long! I can't even bear 2 days!!'
'...'
'And i want a better one... I NEED a DSLR!!'
'for?'
'EVERYTHING!!! and you see, I can use it for.. err... assignments tooooo... i can er.. take better picture of my model!!!! right? right?'
'Like once per sem then you make A model, k?'
'.... yeah... but still' <-- that sentence is my trademark already

So yeah, DSLR DSLR, I want a DSLR!!

Dash and surf. It's round 1000AUD for the body.

and the lens the kits and the stuffsssssss ?!?! A senior told me, ' prepare to spend at least 1500 bucks laaaa.'

Okay forget about that. Let it stay still in my wishlist =)

btw i think i will be lazy to carry the camera around, although it does look so cool if i care to carry one around.

By by by the way, watched 2012 today. Great effect, but a well-its-okay storyline.
Watched 'The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnasus' (yes the one with Heath Leger in it, yes that one!) and 'Julie& Julia' sometime ago. Will talk bout it in the next few post.

Gonna sleep.

You won't beveavit

reads: "YOU WON'T BELIEVE IT!"

This is gonna be a quick update. 'Cause? It's over my dinner, I am busy munching at the same time k? Lower your expectation, I am MULTI-TASKING! wt (<-- this blog is suitable for reader under 18, thanks).

SO what is so unbeveable? Tooo lazy too slacking and way tooo much series occupying my exam life. If i am to make a pie-chart for use of time, it should be somewhere near this :

Your mind reads: 'that's a pig lifestyle...'

I know.

But but but, slacking and procastination does do me a little bit of goodness.

I went jogging, an hour, unbeveable! 'cause that never happens for around a semester already.

And I cook better much better food =) what I have on hand is TIME. Wt_.

That's it at this suppose-to-be-busy moment.

Cheers.

Who says Vista is dumb?

It is not 'dumb', nor it deserved to be 'dumped',
it is 'dumbledore'...
=.="

I know... But isn't this pretty rhythmic, I thought it's fun =)

Anyway, I've got a happy starter for today!! I finally managed to open the stupid hidden photo files in my memory stick!!!!! Like FINALLY!! Been trying and trying and trying for the past few months , using different route to reach the memory cards, some suggesting 'exploring' instead of 'open' the memory sticks. copying the memory sticks to desktop, try different card readers, different computer Et Cetera Et Cetera, BUT non of them works....

Okay after all this crap, you might be wondering how this works actually? c'mon, stop beating round the bush!! I don't have much time!! ... er, sorry i do, i am in the beginning of SWOT Vac, which means i still have plenty of time.

Stop bull-shitting ( i think i wrote too much essay). The thing with Vista is it has got a little 'search' box on the right top of the windows, which i think is custom-made for people like me, this kind of forgetful but have violent amount of files (useful or useless) computer user. This 'search' box is like the tag on a box, you are able to know what's 'hidden' inside without digging and flipping the whole box, save the hassle, save your time. Hm, I start to think that you probably wouldn't be able to understand this if you have no experience in moving. But you are certainly nodding like mad if you do have. Hahas. (oh man, i am so off-the-topic) ... So what i did was typing a 'd' in the box and all of my 'dsc' files came out ( i was using sony, so my photos have 'DSC+serial number' file name!)!!!! Seriously, it has ALL came out!!!! ALL!!!!

...Now copying the files to hardisk, transferring...

Yes, I am so in love with Vista now.
And I think I am smart somehow. <--kidding, not funny meh?

Non-teaching period, smiles

Back to Uni after the 2 weeks break, aka non-teaching periods. Meaning = you doesn't need to attend lecture and tutorial, but you still have heaps to do. Due after the break, EVERYTHING!

I guessed I should kinda report what I have been doing throughout the break. It's a tradition somehow.

The first event was the Moonlight Oasis River Cruise Dinner. Strictly speaking it was BEFORE the break, like, er, the Friday before the break!! Lots of fun in the cruise and HEAPS of them in the after party (although se7en was a bit dissapointing, such a liar it is)!!!

Then here comes sleepova with the 'makan' gang!! The most fattening sleepover ever!!!okay, fantastic still =) If I were to give a conclusion, it's a Dinner> Supper> Breakfast> Lunch> Aftrernoon tea marathon !!

Oh I just recall this after adding the collage!!! There were meet-up with the college peeps as well =) super spicy sichuan + burnt and numb tongue is all in my memory now!!

Then then was Aa Ball in Crown Palladium! Awesome atmosphere.
Can you believe they even makes snow falls in a ballrooom? Yes, THEY DO.
Well it was obviously fake but i appreciate their effort, thanks 'cause it was burning hot at the dance floor!

Then then then, it was the FIRST camp in Melbourne!! Titled ' Spring Break Camp at
Port Phillip Bay', I thought I was going to Phillip Island till I actually went to the meeting point and somebody said ' We will be heading to this and that freeway, stopping at this and that, and will be reaching MORNINGTON around 11am.' !!!! I thought I was half deaf due to yesterday's Aa's booming music or half sleeping as a result of sleeping for around 3 hours the night before!!! 'Are we going to MORNINGTON? As in MORNINGTON PENINSULAR'S MORNINGTON?' 'Yeah'+ a blank face hinting 'don't you know where you are going to when you read the notice and register' is what I got. and I think I deserved that mann. Even MYSELF can't stand me being so blur, so I definitely won't ask anyone to. OKAY, so there I go, MORNINGTON!

Some drama, some very saddening drama happened. My 'babeh' is now in coma after felling off at Cape Schanck's rocky beach. How sad that was, he was with me for less than a year. And now i gotta survive without him.

Btw, my camera is my babeh. and i meant it, k?

Back to the city with only day 1's photos in my coma babeh, I went to Sony Centre, thinking (more like 'hoping') of there is any FOC service. FINE, probably not FOC but please, does a stupid stabiliser cost 500 AUD?!?!

You are thinking of Warranty, probably. Yeah me too, that time. Then I found out that this Malaysia born babeh is not covered in Aussie. 'Warranty only applied in Malaysia', wrote the FIRST sentence of the Warranty card. Don't SONY know that cameras are mostly brought for travelling? Like long term travelling? like me gonna stay here for the next 2 months with my babeh in coma?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update:

19 dec 2009

My babeh is all fine and pretty now! Thanks for your concern if you ever does.

and that was FOC, it's under warranty!

Parallel

First of all, I really shouldn't be here... I have got heaps of freakin assignments due Monday! Yes, forget about the weekend. I am going to give you a sleepy face if you ask me 'How was your weekend?' when you see me on Monday.

.... i don't have much time, stop beating around the bushes....

Kay, so I realised there are still lots of things aren't parallel to my will. I knew that, but I just didn't know how much are they and how important are they, those that I can't control. Dissapointment, seriously.

May be I should pursue, may be I should argue...I can pursue, and I can argue.
But I care too much, till I think I don't have the gut to do so.

I start to doubt if I really have a rational brain that I thought I have.

Well, that was negative, kinda.

Thinking positively, there are still lots of things that I have, that I own... and they are probably dream of some others...

Should stop here.
And I should start typing in my Microsoft word file titled 'essay outline' instead.

Tomorrow is a better tomorrow. Cheers.

UP the movie

Up is hilarious!! Love the fact that it's touching yet humorous!

I love Mr. Fredricksen...yes yes, that oldman! I know it's an animation I know, but still, I could feel how he is feeling, when he kicked start his life with Ellie, sharing their routine and when he lose Ellie eventually... It was total touching, even without a word, just beautiful and ... more and more beautiful scene and music. I remembered I was trying to hide those embarrassing tears when Carl lose Ellie, sitting alone in front of the cathedral, waking up alone on his side of the bed and her side empty and neatly done... and I was trying to chasing those tears away and laugh to hide my embarrassment when Carl was sliding down from his staircase...

The adventurous part with Russel, Kevin (the giant bird) and Dug (the you-are-my-master dog) isn't bringing much surprise to me. But I would say it's great enough and almost there on exceeding my 'standard-border' in general terms. It was wonderful, leading a headful of curiosity, just that may be I am more to the romantic and family kind. Well, there WEREN'T any love story between this part of human and animal story ( okay i know there WEREN'T SUPPOSE to have any as well).

The ending... , it's total beautiful. Happy, sad, and inspiring. Happy for his whole new adventure with Russel and the dogss, sad for the fact that he lose his house with Ellie, inspired that... what is life without dream. and it isn't about destination but the process of pursuing. I guess that's kind of too meaningful to be from my mouth. haha. But my brain is working this way at the moment, believe it or not. (hope this sane last longer, please.)

I guessed I have turned myself into a crying baby this year, from the 'sleeping beauty' last year ( i kept falling asleep in the cinema last year). Almost crying on every movie whenever I watch one. Total embarrassment.

Classic quote:
Charles Muntz: Any last words? Come on, spit it out!
[Carl spits out his dentures]

the oldmans fighting scene was real hilarious!

To show off by the way, I wactched UP is 3D! awesome experiece!! ( not so for my wallet, he is crying pain )

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
and wait, last thing to finish off my post,

Young Ellie: [to a young Carl] You don't talk a lot.
[pause]
Young Ellie: I like you!

Er, Is that so?

the part of married life of carl and ellie for those of you who are interested,

Reasoning with jogging

You wouldn't believe that I went jogging today!! Freaking cold but yeah, people, I DID IT!

I was always thinking to go jogging someday... Never been jogging since the beginning of this year, like March/ April. Been procastinating, as usual.

It is worst during winter time...

Angel: You should go have a nice jog today.
Demon: Can't you see it, it's gonna rain real soon!! See, the dark cloud over there, over there... (pointing to somewhere several thousands kilometers away)

Angel: Time for a jog, it's sunny today!
Demon: Oh mann, but it's so cold out there.

Angel: It's 20C and perfectly sunny today! I'd bet you have no reason to not to jog today.
Demon: Oh I am tired... I slept at 3am yesterday... Ooops, it's TODAY practically.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh so why am I motivated today?

Reason 1: Mummy is coming, I don't think she wants to see me in this big fat shape. Muscle is always better than fat, isn't it? The fact that I can actually makes my fat looks more less like themselves but more like muscle in 3 days (if I jog for around an hour per day for 3 consecutive day <-- yeah i did it before) is giving me hopes to not dissapoint my mom. And MYSELF.

Reason 2: I am procastinating. Procastination for doing assignment wins over the procastination for jogging. (yay) Everything just appears to be so much more very super duper ultra interesting when it comes to time to deal with assignment. (don't you think so?) kay kay, what happened was i went round the uni for the 'spot the ruin' assignment (it's a nickname by the way, it sounds more fun this way, isn't it? Although it's not at all. ), and just feel like jogging after that. Odd, isn't it? Probably some abnormal hormonal change today. (I want this hormone to be excreted EVERYDAY! Who cares if it's abnormal!)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
But you know what, I think what's the bigger problem now is my supper addiction. It's ridiculous. I hope there is some PERMANENT hormonal change happens one day, so I will no longer be craving for late dinner/supper.

I caught Lindt Chocolate Cafe in Melbourne

Guessed what?
LIND
T CHOCLATE CAFE is now in MELBOURNE!!!

It was unbelievable!! I love Lindt!! They made the most amazing chocolate ever!!

But there is another incident that leads to my amazement!!! The story went so -->

I actually heard from a friend of mine who went to Sydney recently and tried out Lindt Chocolate cafe before, and I wished that there will be one in Melbourne too~ And you know what, I saw Lindt choc cafe advertisement at Collins St almost immediately after that when I was ON TRAM! Yes, ON TRAM, and I believe I was talking!!! I know, you talk with your mouth, not your eyes, but I think you normally doens't look around (like outside the tram on the street that you pass by almost every single day!)... I guessed erm, the Lindt's Black Forest cake advertisement is just too eye catching!!! (high 5 to the ad designer =))

I paid the cafe a visit the day after I saw the ad ( it was late night when I found the ad, and you know, melbournians particularly the shop owners rest early )! Didn't get to dine-in though, it was uberly FULL!

Anyway, how could Moon gave up her favourite chocolate merely because of this? She went in the day after that again! (I started to realised my obsession towards chocolate actually gave me extraordinary amount of determination and patience!) And look, what she have got...

Yummy
Wimbeldon (almond vanilla cake, layered wth mascarpone and fresh strawberries as well as puree)!!

and classic
Milk Iced chocolate ( you can choose among dark, milk or white iced chocolate btw. Gonna try dark one next time! I love them =))

This is the 'Chocolat Cerise' (Black forest cake) that appears in the ad!!

A very dense chocolate-mudcake-like cake that my friend got.

Not forgetting the wonderful interior environment!!! Classical ?!?! (<-- Archi's disease, whoops!) and psssst... customer weren't allowed to take photo of the cafe's interior, or else I would take more!! I couldn't kept pretending that I am fixing my camera, could I? Awesome experience in general!! Elegant, indulgence et cetera, et cetera, until i saw the bill...
I know what you're thinking. But... NO!! I DON'T mean the PRICE!! (it's expected somehow, isn't quality of food usually proportional with the price?)

Okay okay, see once more...

Nah!!! I meant the
ADDRESS!!! I am NOT in Sydney, although er... I wish I was!!!

Conclusion?
The manager must be a geography noob.
Joking ^^
*praying that Lindt's manager didn't see this or he doesn't understand English.*

Anyway, lovely experience I had in Lindt Chocolate cafe!!

Btw, Yay for another chocolate cafe in Melbourne after KokoBlack, Max Brenners and San Churros !! (did I left any?) And oh, I heard there is gonna be another outlet in Chadston soon!! A shopping and dessert-ing tour sounds tempting!

Kay Cheers for Chocolate.

My Sister's Keeper

Just watched 'My Sister's Keeper'... I couldn't say it's the best movie I have ever watched or something like that but it's definitely emotion provoking, especially those stupid tears that wouldn't stop rolling down. Stupid.

Not gonna talk about the story and plot, for the sake of you to enjoy the movie =) haha.. keep mysterious.

But I found a funny thing with the movie's cast credit, How can Abigail's name on top of the poster beside Cameron while Sofia's at the bottom printed with minimum opacity (not enough ink? ) ? I am quite sure that Sofia as Kate appeared more than Abigail in the movie.... <-- I don't mean I hate or dislike Abigail, she is lovely!!! I actually like her =) I just don't understand how they do the poster and credits...

But yeah, great movie. Just make sure you use waterproof mascara if you do makeup =)

Brain-Heart conflict

Image editted from: http://vox2.cdn.amiestreet.com/album-art/Idiot-Brain---Genius-Heart-by-Pet-Ghost-Project_rJl_zw8AwwUx_full.jpg

Life is full of dilemma, full of conflict, between things, and between people... I don't know if I am weird, but conflict exists between my brain and heart quite often, seriously... Am I weird? Can someone tell me please? Your contrubtion will reallly be appreciated =) I have no prize for you, but I am serious here. Yes I am.

Or you might not realise it, so I gonna explain here, my definition of 'brain-heart conflict'.

brain-heart conflict
n
An internal clash or disharmony between feelings (uncontrollable) and thinking (controllable).

"Sometimes you know you shouldn't FEEL so, but you just FEEL SO.
and sometimes yoknow you shouldn't DO so, but you just DO SO. "

You can't believe what happened to my first lecture.

Second Sem officially starts today!! It was reluctant for me to be back to uni again (although I live basically 2 blocks from the uni), after a month of super slacking life...Argh, gonna increase my life pace!

But what happended was I woke up rather early, like one and a half hour before class to get ready, wasted 15 mins getting lost around the massive Engineering faculty, and HALF AN HOUR staring blankly at the absent lecture podium, which ends up being absent still for the next half an hour (I suppose, 'cause I left with wth in my brain!!!).. So in conclusion, Moon wasted 2Hr15Mins in her 1st day of 2nd sem uni!!! Can't believe this happenned to my first lecture of this sem!! Bad head start!

I think I could finally understand why MelbUni architecture was rejected by a frined of mine =.= I understand you =)

Cheers. for life. haha.
