Non-teaching period, smiles

Back to Uni after the 2 weeks break, aka non-teaching periods. Meaning = you doesn't need to attend lecture and tutorial, but you still have heaps to do. Due after the break, EVERYTHING!

I guessed I should kinda report what I have been doing throughout the break. It's a tradition somehow.

The first event was the Moonlight Oasis River Cruise Dinner. Strictly speaking it was BEFORE the break, like, er, the Friday before the break!! Lots of fun in the cruise and HEAPS of them in the after party (although se7en was a bit dissapointing, such a liar it is)!!!

Then here comes sleepova with the 'makan' gang!! The most fattening sleepover ever!!!okay, fantastic still =) If I were to give a conclusion, it's a Dinner> Supper> Breakfast> Lunch> Aftrernoon tea marathon !!

Oh I just recall this after adding the collage!!! There were meet-up with the college peeps as well =) super spicy sichuan + burnt and numb tongue is all in my memory now!!

Then then was Aa Ball in Crown Palladium! Awesome atmosphere.
Can you believe they even makes snow falls in a ballrooom? Yes, THEY DO.
Well it was obviously fake but i appreciate their effort, thanks 'cause it was burning hot at the dance floor!

Then then then, it was the FIRST camp in Melbourne!! Titled ' Spring Break Camp at
Port Phillip Bay', I thought I was going to Phillip Island till I actually went to the meeting point and somebody said ' We will be heading to this and that freeway, stopping at this and that, and will be reaching MORNINGTON around 11am.' !!!! I thought I was half deaf due to yesterday's Aa's booming music or half sleeping as a result of sleeping for around 3 hours the night before!!! 'Are we going to MORNINGTON? As in MORNINGTON PENINSULAR'S MORNINGTON?' 'Yeah'+ a blank face hinting 'don't you know where you are going to when you read the notice and register' is what I got. and I think I deserved that mann. Even MYSELF can't stand me being so blur, so I definitely won't ask anyone to. OKAY, so there I go, MORNINGTON!

Some drama, some very saddening drama happened. My 'babeh' is now in coma after felling off at Cape Schanck's rocky beach. How sad that was, he was with me for less than a year. And now i gotta survive without him.

Btw, my camera is my babeh. and i meant it, k?

Back to the city with only day 1's photos in my coma babeh, I went to Sony Centre, thinking (more like 'hoping') of there is any FOC service. FINE, probably not FOC but please, does a stupid stabiliser cost 500 AUD?!?!

You are thinking of Warranty, probably. Yeah me too, that time. Then I found out that this Malaysia born babeh is not covered in Aussie. 'Warranty only applied in Malaysia', wrote the FIRST sentence of the Warranty card. Don't SONY know that cameras are mostly brought for travelling? Like long term travelling? like me gonna stay here for the next 2 months with my babeh in coma?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update:

19 dec 2009

My babeh is all fine and pretty now! Thanks for your concern if you ever does.

and that was FOC, it's under warranty!

Parallel

First of all, I really shouldn't be here... I have got heaps of freakin assignments due Monday! Yes, forget about the weekend. I am going to give you a sleepy face if you ask me 'How was your weekend?' when you see me on Monday.

.... i don't have much time, stop beating around the bushes....

Kay, so I realised there are still lots of things aren't parallel to my will. I knew that, but I just didn't know how much are they and how important are they, those that I can't control. Dissapointment, seriously.

May be I should pursue, may be I should argue...I can pursue, and I can argue.
But I care too much, till I think I don't have the gut to do so.

I start to doubt if I really have a rational brain that I thought I have.

Well, that was negative, kinda.

Thinking positively, there are still lots of things that I have, that I own... and they are probably dream of some others...

Should stop here.
And I should start typing in my Microsoft word file titled 'essay outline' instead.

Tomorrow is a better tomorrow. Cheers.

UP the movie

Up is hilarious!! Love the fact that it's touching yet humorous!

I love Mr. Fredricksen...yes yes, that oldman! I know it's an animation I know, but still, I could feel how he is feeling, when he kicked start his life with Ellie, sharing their routine and when he lose Ellie eventually... It was total touching, even without a word, just beautiful and ... more and more beautiful scene and music. I remembered I was trying to hide those embarrassing tears when Carl lose Ellie, sitting alone in front of the cathedral, waking up alone on his side of the bed and her side empty and neatly done... and I was trying to chasing those tears away and laugh to hide my embarrassment when Carl was sliding down from his staircase...

The adventurous part with Russel, Kevin (the giant bird) and Dug (the you-are-my-master dog) isn't bringing much surprise to me. But I would say it's great enough and almost there on exceeding my 'standard-border' in general terms. It was wonderful, leading a headful of curiosity, just that may be I am more to the romantic and family kind. Well, there WEREN'T any love story between this part of human and animal story ( okay i know there WEREN'T SUPPOSE to have any as well).

The ending... , it's total beautiful. Happy, sad, and inspiring. Happy for his whole new adventure with Russel and the dogss, sad for the fact that he lose his house with Ellie, inspired that... what is life without dream. and it isn't about destination but the process of pursuing. I guess that's kind of too meaningful to be from my mouth. haha. But my brain is working this way at the moment, believe it or not. (hope this sane last longer, please.)

I guessed I have turned myself into a crying baby this year, from the 'sleeping beauty' last year ( i kept falling asleep in the cinema last year). Almost crying on every movie whenever I watch one. Total embarrassment.

Classic quote:
Charles Muntz: Any last words? Come on, spit it out!
[Carl spits out his dentures]

the oldmans fighting scene was real hilarious!

To show off by the way, I wactched UP is 3D! awesome experiece!! ( not so for my wallet, he is crying pain )

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
and wait, last thing to finish off my post,

Young Ellie: [to a young Carl] You don't talk a lot.
[pause]
Young Ellie: I like you!

Er, Is that so?

Reasoning with jogging

You wouldn't believe that I went jogging today!! Freaking cold but yeah, people, I DID IT!

I was always thinking to go jogging someday... Never been jogging since the beginning of this year, like March/ April. Been procastinating, as usual.

It is worst during winter time...

Angel: You should go have a nice jog today.
Demon: Can't you see it, it's gonna rain real soon!! See, the dark cloud over there, over there... (pointing to somewhere several thousands kilometers away)

Angel: Time for a jog, it's sunny today!
Demon: Oh mann, but it's so cold out there.

Angel: It's 20C and perfectly sunny today! I'd bet you have no reason to not to jog today.
Demon: Oh I am tired... I slept at 3am yesterday... Ooops, it's TODAY practically.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh so why am I motivated today?

Reason 1: Mummy is coming, I don't think she wants to see me in this big fat shape. Muscle is always better than fat, isn't it? The fact that I can actually makes my fat looks more less like themselves but more like muscle in 3 days (if I jog for around an hour per day for 3 consecutive day <-- yeah i did it before) is giving me hopes to not dissapoint my mom. And MYSELF.

Reason 2: I am procastinating. Procastination for doing assignment wins over the procastination for jogging. (yay) Everything just appears to be so much more very super duper ultra interesting when it comes to time to deal with assignment. (don't you think so?) kay kay, what happened was i went round the uni for the 'spot the ruin' assignment (it's a nickname by the way, it sounds more fun this way, isn't it? Although it's not at all. ), and just feel like jogging after that. Odd, isn't it? Probably some abnormal hormonal change today. (I want this hormone to be excreted EVERYDAY! Who cares if it's abnormal!)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
But you know what, I think what's the bigger problem now is my supper addiction. It's ridiculous. I hope there is some PERMANENT hormonal change happens one day, so I will no longer be craving for late dinner/supper.

I caught Lindt Chocolate Cafe in Melbourne

Guessed what?
LIND
T CHOCLATE CAFE is now in MELBOURNE!!!

It was unbelievable!! I love Lindt!! They made the most amazing chocolate ever!!

But there is another incident that leads to my amazement!!! The story went so -->

I actually heard from a friend of mine who went to Sydney recently and tried out Lindt Chocolate cafe before, and I wished that there will be one in Melbourne too~ And you know what, I saw Lindt choc cafe advertisement at Collins St almost immediately after that when I was ON TRAM! Yes, ON TRAM, and I believe I was talking!!! I know, you talk with your mouth, not your eyes, but I think you normally doens't look around (like outside the tram on the street that you pass by almost every single day!)... I guessed erm, the Lindt's Black Forest cake advertisement is just too eye catching!!! (high 5 to the ad designer =))

I paid the cafe a visit the day after I saw the ad ( it was late night when I found the ad, and you know, melbournians particularly the shop owners rest early )! Didn't get to dine-in though, it was uberly FULL!

Anyway, how could Moon gave up her favourite chocolate merely because of this? She went in the day after that again! (I started to realised my obsession towards chocolate actually gave me extraordinary amount of determination and patience!) And look, what she have got...

Yummy
Wimbeldon (almond vanilla cake, layered wth mascarpone and fresh strawberries as well as puree)!!

and classic
Milk Iced chocolate ( you can choose among dark, milk or white iced chocolate btw. Gonna try dark one next time! I love them =))

This is the 'Chocolat Cerise' (Black forest cake) that appears in the ad!!

A very dense chocolate-mudcake-like cake that my friend got.

Not forgetting the wonderful interior environment!!! Classical ?!?! (<-- Archi's disease, whoops!) and psssst... customer weren't allowed to take photo of the cafe's interior, or else I would take more!! I couldn't kept pretending that I am fixing my camera, could I? Awesome experience in general!! Elegant, indulgence et cetera, et cetera, until i saw the bill...
I know what you're thinking. But... NO!! I DON'T mean the PRICE!! (it's expected somehow, isn't quality of food usually proportional with the price?)

Okay okay, see once more...

Nah!!! I meant the
ADDRESS!!! I am NOT in Sydney, although er... I wish I was!!!

Conclusion?
The manager must be a geography noob.
Joking ^^
*praying that Lindt's manager didn't see this or he doesn't understand English.*

Anyway, lovely experience I had in Lindt Chocolate cafe!!

Btw, Yay for another chocolate cafe in Melbourne after KokoBlack, Max Brenners and San Churros !! (did I left any?) And oh, I heard there is gonna be another outlet in Chadston soon!! A shopping and dessert-ing tour sounds tempting!

Kay Cheers for Chocolate.

My Sister's Keeper

Just watched 'My Sister's Keeper'... I couldn't say it's the best movie I have ever watched or something like that but it's definitely emotion provoking, especially those stupid tears that wouldn't stop rolling down. Stupid.

Not gonna talk about the story and plot, for the sake of you to enjoy the movie =) haha.. keep mysterious.

But I found a funny thing with the movie's cast credit, How can Abigail's name on top of the poster beside Cameron while Sofia's at the bottom printed with minimum opacity (not enough ink? ) ? I am quite sure that Sofia as Kate appeared more than Abigail in the movie.... <-- I don't mean I hate or dislike Abigail, she is lovely!!! I actually like her =) I just don't understand how they do the poster and credits...

But yeah, great movie. Just make sure you use waterproof mascara if you do makeup =)
